Deontay Wilder former wbc heavyweight champion of the world lost to the gypsy King Tyson Fury on february 22nd 2020 in which the aftermath was thought to be more of a downfall than what actually happened in the ring. Some may read the title and automatically wonder why am i referencing God?
Well if you been following Wilder’s career you would know he’s a God fearing man that always reference the The word of God (speak it believe it receive it) i think many in the boxing world have heard Wilder reference that quote. So Wilder knowing scripture and knowing the power of God. Anything thats asked or Prayed will be received in GOD’S TIME in GOD’S way, and maybe just maybe Wilder underestimated the purpose God had for him.
let’s briefly take it back memories lane. Deontay Wilder walked in to a boxing gym for the sole purpose of taking care of his Daughter who was born with spina bifida, which is a hereditary disease that affects the spinal cord and surrounding membranes during early development in pregnancy and usually causes lifelong disability. Wilder was not in it to become the next Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali. The purpose was to take care of his daughter. Boxing was his way to earn.
Wilder sacrifices for others didn’t stop there. Wilder gave Luis Ortiz a rematch which he knocked out in their first bout, yet many questioned why did he give Ortiz a rematch When the fans just wanted to finally see a heavyweight undisputed bout. So happens That Wilder related to another father needing to take care of his daughter just like He needed to takecare of his. Ortiz Daughter was born with epidermolysis bullosa, a rare skin condition which in Cuba she couldn’t get the proper care so Ortiz brought his daughter to the states which gave her the better opportunity for her care and earning to a fight with Wilder would secure the funds for Ortiz to be able to comfortably able to help his father financially with her treatments.
Wilder stated “So I know personally how hard it is and how much it takes to take care of a child with a disorder. It takes a lot of money, and it takes a lot of care, and I grew a great bond with him. So I have seen him as one of the top guys in the heavyweight division, and I want to bless him. You need money to support them, and I wanted to bless him again for not only for him being a great warrior, one of the best in the world but also for his family. I wanted to bless his family and put him on pay-per-view.”
If you ask me that’s more honorable than becoming a undisputed champ. The purpose of Wilder was to sacrifice but it was more than just earning a Win, it was giving the opportunity for others to Win in Life and health.
Now that we in that state of mind in understanding the purpose of Wilder let’s focus back to the attention of Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder and the purpose of it. Stay within the mind frame of Wilder’s spiritual belief (Servant to the will of God)
Remember After Tyson Fury beat Klitchko, Fury spiral downhill. Addicted to cocaine, fell into depression suffering from Mental Illness, contemplating suicide. Tyson Fury hit rock bottom. During that time in a TMZ interview Wilder said he would do anything to help Fury https://youtu.be/amF9eKaLjTM.
In 2017 Tyson Fury video recorded himself to say, big ups to The bronze bomber Deontay Wilder for giving him the motivation to come back. That motivation and of course with spiritual guidance made him quit drugs, getting back in shape in which Tyson Fury stated that training is what keeps him alive. Paris Fury got her Husband back and The Kids got their Dad Back. What was the motivation again? The words of Wilder which Fury genuinely thanked Wilder. During their promo for the rematch. Wilder humbled Fury by stating.
“Don’t you ever forget that when I found you, you were strung out on coke. You were like a big house, contemplating killing yourself. Don’t you ever forget who brought you to big-time boxing. I brought you back, dragged you back, I put food on your table for your family to eat and I’m doing it again for a second time.
Yes it was promo but the truth in those words were accurate. The Pattern of God’s purpose for Wilder has been not the belts but to sacrifice for those that need help Health wise. Whether his own daughter, Ortiz daughter or Tyson Fury. Deontay Wilder presence and position in life was the Purpose God may have had for him to give others the opportunity to be healthy.
Many of us have a purpose. Many in their lifetime identify that purpose and take full advantage of it. Others runaway from that purpose others never get to identify with it, others lose interest of that purpose. We all have a calling.
By listening to Wilder and his unattractive reasons of why he lost the rematch vs Tyson Fury. Maybe Wilder have not identify the purpose or how God may have sacrifice Wilder to Help others survive their mental issues or unfortunate health circumstances. Is not how you want to serve God but how God wants you to serve him for the greater Good. If Wilder understands the power of God and how he works in mysterious ways. I know for sure that Wilder understands what’s written.
Deontay Wilder got a W for God’s Purpose. The draw and the L is irrelevant. So message to Wilder and to all. Fight for the purpose that God has for you. Pray to identify your purpose and calling. You will never be defeated when you serve God. God is your wealth and the TRUE KING.
