WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman is not looking to strip his nearly 2 years inactive WBC Middleweight Champion Jermall Charlo. Unfortunately Jermall Charlo has been going thru Personal issues that has kept him from being mentally and physically ready to step back in the ring. Recently Sulaiman met with Charlo and briefly elaborated on his status as champion.
“It was a wonderful meeting, very nice,” Sulaiman told Izquierdazo. “He has been through complicated personal issues. He thanked the WBC for the support that we have given to him.”
“He is our champion, and he is coming forward,” Sulaiman said.

On the flip side it’s also honorable from the WBC to acknowledge and have sympathy for its fighters and the obstacles they face outside the ring. The WBC has a great reputation in helping its past champions and fighters in general in need. Yet in keeping its tradition they can’t abandon other fighters in their sanctioning body which their goals and career has been put on hold because of WBC enabling their inactive champion.
