With a record of 58 wins, 2 loss, and 2 draws, Alvarez has defeated some of the biggest names in boxing, However, with few of his potential rivals tied up in other fights or not in their prime, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Alvarez to find an opponent that will generate excitement and present a real challenge. Boxing fans and experts are eagerly watching to see who will step up to face Alvarez and potentially take his crown as the sport’s top Mega Star.
David Benavidez who is set to fight former Ibf super middleweight champion Caleb Plant March 25th has been the most attractive and which many believe the opponent which possess the interest, talent, challenge and threat to make a fight with Canelo a super MEGA FIGHT.
Canelo vs Benavidez is one of the few fights or unfortunately the only fight for Canelo that captivates the imagination of the boxing fans. Yet Benavidez will first have to be successful vs Plant, which many are predicting it will happen including Canelo which recently predicted Benavidez as the victor. We all know that anything can happen in the sport of boxing and if Plant throws a Monkey Wrench and upsets Benavidez, that will hurt the possibility of the only Mega fight left for Canelo to be obsolete.
