Demetrius Andrade & Jermall Charlo BOTH need eachother more than ever.

Demetrius Andrade vs Demond Nickolson will kick off the Gervonta Davis vs Hector Luis Garcia PPV Telecast January 7th in Washington D.C. and Boo Boo as always will inevitably make a statement yet will the statement finally grant what his legacy desperately needs. A name which elevates a potential match up as a legacy fight. One name that Andrade is set on is the WBC middleweight champ Jermall Charlo.

During Media day workout Andrade said “I want to give the sport what they’re looking for. Because that’s also what I want with myself. Me and Jermall Charlo have had this rivalry brewing for years. It’s nothing but respect, but I want to take care of it in the ring. Who else is calling him out the way I am?

Technically outside of Wilder vs Joshua, Charlo vs Andrade maybe the longest marinated fight in boxing. Also have shared similar critique in reference to the lack of elite names on their resume and the inactivity which is truly a boxing sport issue across the board.

Demetrius Andrade which his contract with Matchroom Dazn recently expired, was in the right side of the street to make the biggest fights happen in the middleweight division. Unfortunately the top lucrative names did not want any part of Andrade. Andrade publicly and personally have crashed Press conferences and post fight interviews yet it did not entice either potential opponents. Another issue was that most of the boxing media outlets and personnel, did not challenge those fighters to fight Demetrius Andrade basically giving them a pass which eventually did not entice the powers that be to make those fights happen nor was they shamed to make those fights happen. Andrade was suppose to be at the right place at the right time. Yet now that’s in the reel view mirror.

Andrade surprisingly have signed a 1 fight deal with Showtime sports PBC which hopefully being at the right place to make the fight which he desperately want and needs is finally the right time. Jermall Charlo vs Demetrius Andrade need eachother more than ever. The window of opportunity is closing in and Andrade has acknowledged that.

“I was trying to get the big names at middleweight, I was knocking on everyone’s door, but at the end of the day, it didn’t happen. Everything happens for a reason, and I believe that this is the best division for me.

“I want the Charlo twins, I want David Benavidez and Caleb Plant. I’m ready for anyone who wants to put on a big show.”

“At the end of the day, all the fights at the top of the division will be tough. I would have to look real close to break down who the biggest challenge is, but I’m giving them all credit and acknowledging that they’re all gonna be tough fights when we get in there.”
