Zurdo Ramirez in his first fight at Cruserweight may have been 20 pounds heavier than his light heavyweight days, Yet was lighter on his feet and more elusive than hes ever been as he defeated Former Light Heavyweight Champion Joe Smith Jr in their 10 round bout.
Fight was closer than what the judges thought. All judges scored the bout 99-91 in favor of Zurdo Ramirez. Respectfully fight was a lot closer than that which both lead trainers stressing to their fighter, they have to take the last round to. win the fight.
Zurdo was magnificent with this movement and landing effective combination lead by a great jab that kept stopping Smith attacks in which made Smith reset, which seemed to have him a bit frustrated on when to find the opening to get on the inside where Smith is at his best. All Tho Smith had numerous of success in the 2nd half of the fight, landing heavy leather up top. Credit to Zurdo chin and footwork by weathering the storm and finishing strong as he started.
“I’m back and i’m ready to be champion.”
