Erickson Lubin “No Robbery” Defeats Jesus Ramos In A Controversial Wide Unanimous Decision.

Erickson Lubin unanimously defeated Jesus Ramos in which many in attendance felt the judges had this one wrong. Which looked as Ramos was the most aggressive fighter, don’t necessarily translate to Effective Aggression, which is one of the 4 criteria in scoring a bout (Effective Aggression, Clean Effective punches landed, ring generalship, defensive) 

Lubin made adjustments in the late 2nd half of the fight by using his ring generalship landing the cleaner Effective shots and dictated the pace of the fight while Ramos couldn’t find a way to cut off the ring, all while taking is foot of the gas as Ramos elaborated during his post fight interview. 

“I felt like I was just trying to show different dimensions to my game and not just come forward. It is what it is. I’ll take this loss, come back and learn from it. I learned not to let it go to the judges. Maybe I don’t put it on cruise control next time. A little more pressure. I’ll learn from this. It was a good experience.” 

Lubin’s career has had its hiccups and bumps on the road first losing to current undisputed junior Middleweight Undisputed Champion Jermell Charlo and 7 fights later to Sebastian Fundora, yet one thing for sure Lubin is one resilient son of a gun, always making the best out of his comeback trails. 

“I was controlling the fight. I fought at my pace. I didn’t let him do too much and I won the fight. I want the world title. Like I said before, I’m tired of people calling me a gatekeeper. I ain’t no gatekeeper in this division. I just beat a young kid that’s 20-0, he’s a great young fighter, but ya’ll gotta stop calling me a gatekeeper. I’m one of the top dogs in this division. 

Once again Lubin has earned to be lined up for a title shot. Hopefully he don’t have to fight yet again a bunch of WBC title eliminators All while being in mandatory position already.
